To love people and equip them to reflect the heart and life of Jesus.

Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is Christ.
Ephesians 4:15

A place of Hope
A culture of Welcome
A people shaped by Scripture
To have lives transformed to look like Jesus.

In early 1913, a group of holiness people organized a Sunday School and met in a dugout. In the fall of 1913, this Sunday School helped organize another Sunday School for the people living on the North of the Cimmaron River, with that group meeting in a schoolhouse. in the late 1914, the two groups were organized into a band of holiness people who meet together every two weeks for more than a year at the schoolhouse. The original group northeast of Elkhart then organized into the Pentecostal Church of the Nazarene with seven members. In 1916, a church building was erected out in the country and was later moved into Elkhart. In June of 1916, a seven-week tent revival was held in Elkhart. As a result of this revival, the church was officially organized within the city limits of Elkhart, with services held at the home of Sam Gamble. In 1927, construction of the present sanctuary began, and it was dedicated on February 16th, 1930.
Missions have always been an important part of our Elkhart Church. For many years we have been sending out Work & Witness teams. Some of the trips have included Russia, Kenya, Africa, Brazil, and Costa Rica. Several times we have gone to South Dakota to help with the American Indian Reservation. These trips were such a blessing to all who participated. Our church on the corner of Colorado & Sid is still in the soul-winning business as we discipline and minister to our community.

I'm a proud native of rural Kansas and grew up in the small town of Stafford. I spend all of my school years there and was what many would call as "bus kid" at Stafford Nazarene Church.
Some of my earliest experiences of God's love came from the incredible women who led our Children's Church. Their care for me and my five brothers left a lasting impact on my life, and I'll always be grateful for their faithful example.
After high school, I attended MidAmerica Nazarene University, where I earned a degree in Physical Education. More importantly, its where I meet my amazing wife, Jolene. We begun our life together and now have four wonderful children: Raelee Espinosa (and her husband Damian, along with our grandchildren Eliseo and Riella), Josie Hall (and her husband Adam), Roberto Adreono Ibarra, and Emilio Ibarra.
Later in life, I felt the Lord calling me into full-time ministry, I returned to school and earned a degree in Ministerial Studies from Nazarene Bible College. Over the past 13 years, I've had the honor of pastoring and serving in various ministries--working with children, youth, and adults. No matter the age or stage, my passion is the same: to see the church be the hands and feet of Jesus in the community-- reaching out with love, compassion, and hope.
One verse that continues to guide my heart and ministry is Micah 6:8: "He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
I believe that when we live out this calling, we reflect the very heart of God to a world that desperately needs Him.

Children's Bible quizzing is a fun way to lean the basic truth of the Bible. Through games, Bible stories, songs and low stress competition, kids can grasp how much Jesus loves them. Teaching children to be confident in what they believe and why they believe it gives a great foundation for them to lean to rely on the Lord and strive to do what is right.
